In addition to this,checks will also have to be carried out by the employee to see if there’s any tax evasion or if any crime related to tax fraud has been committed.  In general, the work of an income tax officer is considered safe but one must take extra precautions while going on these raids. 

• Work Hours of a Tax Inspector
The work hours will be normal office work hours. The work starts in the morning and is completed by the evening. In most cases, there are no extra work hours or working in shifts. During raids, however, employees may have to work longer.

• Payment Scheme
The pay is reasonable for a tax inspector. To add to this there are many perks. Some of these perks are a dearness allowance on total pay. Also, there’s a transport allowance. The house rent allowance is a big help. Usually accommodation is provided for government servants. Another perk is 30 litres petrol.

• Many Chances of Promotion
This job comes with very good promotion prospects. You do not stay for long in one place.  From an income tax inspector in about 4 to 6 years you become an Officer (ITO). The next step is to become an Assistant Commissioner and one finishes one’s career as a Commissioner Of Income Tax. In short there are plenty of opportunities in this field.
